Charnell Ferguson believes in creating a stronger Prince George's County. A Prince George's County that works for everyone from South to North County. A County where government is responsive, opportunity is shared, and every community feels seen, supported, and safe.

Her County-wide experience and deep community roots allows Ferguson to understand how decisions ripple across neighborhoods, schools, businesses, and families. Her vision is grounded in practical leadership, guided by integrity, and focused on results that improve the quality of life for all residents across the county.

Public Safety

Safe Communities. Stronger Prince George's County.

Charnell Ferguson believes every resident deserves to feel safe, heard, and respected, no matter their zip code. She believes public safety is more than enforcement it takes strategic and preventative partnerships to make Prince George’s strong.

Charnell Ferguson has collaborated with Prince George’s County Police Department for over 9 years. Ferguson believes Prince George’s County is stronger when the community and law enforcement can collaborate to build a safe and stronger Prince George's County.

Education

Education is the foundation of a strong Prince George’s County. As County Executive, Charnell Ferguson is committed to ensuring every student—regardless of zip code—has access to a world class education and every opportunity to succeed.

As a youth, Charnell’s mom instilled the value of education as she balanced basketball and books. She is a graduate of Dr. Henry A. Wise Jr. Highschool and attended headstart at Judith P Hoyer. Ferguson continued to pursue her education at Maryland’s First HBCU Bowie State University, where she graduated with her B.S in Business Management and Master’s in Public Administration.

Economic Development

Growing Opportunity. Creating Jobs.

Prince George’s County has enormous potential. Charnell Ferguson believes economic development must create real opportunities for residents, support local businesses, and ensure growth benefits every community.

Ferguson believes” The county should not solely rest on the burden of residential property taxes". She has testified at the Maryland State House to expand the state small business reserve program, worked to provide workforce training to youth in Prince George’s County through Employ Prince George's KEYS program and sat on panels pertaining to Economic Justice.
